Minsk, Belarus
October 27-30, 2015

Dear Colleague:

During 27-30 October 2015, in the frame of V-th Congress of Physicists of Belarus, the regular International Conference “Methods of Non-Euclidean Geometry in Physics and Mathematics” (BGL-9) will be held in B.I. Stepanov Institute of Physics, National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Minsk.

Non-Euclidean Geometry in Modern Physics and Mathematics is a series of biennial conferences, initiated by the Bogolyubov Institute for Theoretical Physics, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Its shorthand subtitle is BGL, from the abbreviation of the names - Bolyai, Gauss, Lobachevsky - of the founders of the new geometry. The first conference of this series was held in Uzhgorod (Ukraine) in 1997, the second one - in Nyiregyháza (Hungary,1999), the third was sheduled such as to match the 200-th anniversary of Jánosh Bolyai, and was held in Targu-Mures (Marosvásárhely, Romania, 2002) - hometown of the Bolayi family. The fourth one, BGL-4, was held in Nizhny Novgorod (Russia, 2004) - hometown of Nikolai Ivanovich Lobachevsky. The fifth conference BGL-5 was held in 2006 in Minsk, Belarus; the sixth one - in Debrecen (Hungary, 2008) the seventh one - in 2010 in Cluj-Napoca (Kolozsvár), Romania. The last one, BGL-8, was held in Uzhgorod (Ukraine) in 2012.

Scope: The program of the future conference will contain talks on various applications of non-Euclidean geometry in modern physics and mathematics. Among them there will be recent developments in astroparticle physics, namely the evolution of the early universe, the problem of the dark matter and possible geometrical interpretations, the brane universe, possibilities of detecting mini-black holes and higher dimensions in cosmic rays and/or at accelerator (LHC) energies, quantum groups and quantum deformations. All these topics are closely related to the non-Euclidean geometry. Mathematical part of the discussion will contain recent applications of non-Euclidean geometry to different topics of modern mathematics - geometry, algebra, dynamical systems and other fields.

We look forward to welcoming you to Belarus.

Chairman of the Belarusian Physical Society,
Professor Yu. A. Kurochkin

Chairman of the Organizing Committee of BGL-9,
